  • Decades of Migraines Ended at Sea

I have lived with debilitating migraines for over 20 years. They usually strike when the weather changes or when I’m under stress, so I spent the first two days of our anniversary cruise hiding in the cabin with the curtains drawn, feeling nauseous and defeated. My husband was heartbroken that we were missing everything. He met a couple at dinner who raved about Dr. Chen and practically dragged me down to the medical center the next morning.

I was skeptical because I’ve tried every medication and specialist in the book. Dr. Chen didn’t just treat the headache; he asked about my digestion, my sleep, and my stress levels. He explained how everything was connected. The treatment was incredibly relaxing—I actually fell asleep on the table!

When I woke up, the pounding behind my eyes was completely gone. not just “better,” but gone. I haven’t had a single migraine for the rest of the 10-day voyage. We enjoyed the excursions, the late-night shows, and the bright Caribbean sun without fear. Dr. Chen gave me my vacation back. (Elizabeth)
